Description:
Located in Simon Bolivar Park, Bogotá, the High-Performance Sports Center (HPSC) aims to optimize functionality and enhance connectivity within the complex while fostering a strong relationship with its surroundings.
The primary strategy involves positioning the larger volume spaces on the upper floors to ensure swift and efficient circulation and movement. This approach streamlines access to key areas, facilitating seamless navigation throughout the facility.
The project is designed to establish direct links with the surrounding park, promoting accessibility and openness on the ground level. By incorporating circulation pathways and openings on all sides of the building at the first level, the HPSC seamlessly integrates with its natural environment, inviting visitors to engage with the park’s amenities and attractions.
Furthermore, the building seeks to merge with the landscape through the implementation of an urban staircase that traverses all levels of the project, particularly emphasizing the terraces. These terraces serve as focal points for gathering, additional sports activities, and enhancing the visual and natural connection with the park.
Through the incorporation of green terraces and gardens, the project aims to restore the green footprint that would otherwise be occupied by the building, thereby enriching the environmental and scenic offerings of the park. This innovative design approach not only maximizes the usability of the space but also enhances the overall sustainability and aesthetic appeal of the High-Performance Sports Center in Simon Bolivar Park.
